About the Product:
If you want to impress your guests, and enrich your collection of tableware with an authentic and traditional “Made in Itay” set, Rosone is a must have. The two signature product lines, in yellow ochre and in blue, reflect the history of the Sicilian Baroque era. The style is recognizable by its typical central Rosone (flower) and by it's unique curves and complimentary floral decorations, all of which are hand-painted. The blue décor is typical 17th century, and was en vogue until the 18th century. This style can be found in churches, palaces, and other architectural marvels in famous town such as Catania, Noto, Ragusa, and Modica, which were rebuilt after the Earthquake of 1693 destroyed much of Eastern Sicily. Add Neo-Classical stem glasses and a blue linen tablecloth for a truly distinctive and one-off Sicilian tablescape.
NOTE: Possible imperfections are due to the handmade nature of each item.
About the Collection:
La Giara, named in honor of the famous work of Pirandello, is one of the oldest manufacturers of artistic ceramics in Sicily. Since 1953, the Famiglia Patti of Santo Stefano di Camastra has produced objects for the home and table using artisanal methods. Awarded with numerous prizes for having perfected the decoration technique called "Rosso Vivace" (i.e. vivacious red) during the '70s, Ceramiche La Giara has been able to preserve authentic Sicilian pottery traditions, both in the decoration and production processes. Each dish in this special collection for DishesOnly was hand-decorated and signed by the artist.
