About the Product:
Coppe (Cups) is a capsule collection handcrafted in twelve pieces. Each cup is based on eye-catching patterns designed to evoke the legendary Sicilian baroque èpoque and the particular veins of the leaves. The technique used is a mix of raku and craclè (Craquelure in French, Crackle in English) which features a fine pattern of dense cracking formed on the surface of ceramic.
Ideal for adding a characterful touch to your table providing a pleasing contrast with a contemporary dinner set. With a capacity of 18 cl (6,34 oz.) and the lightness of a glass, Coppe is perfect to serve appetizers, cocktails, ice-cream and any kind of cold and hot food, given the use of vitrified terracotta which allows you to maintain the aromas and a constant temperature inside the cup.
Bring a distinctive look to every tablescape with an exciting, eclectic mix of Coppe, ceramic cups.
NOTE: Possible imperfections are due to the handmade nature of each item.
About the Collection:
Santina Raimondo was one of the most celebrated studio potters in Sicily, making a name for herself as a female potter. Her son Dario, after 15 years in the wine industry, decided to relaunch the family workshop reinterpreting the tradition of the classic Caltagirone ceramics, Sicilian baroque art in a contemporary and distinctive way.
He uses Sicilian and Sila red clay in full respect of the raw materials that characterize the territory. Dario likes to describe his technique as "Hand decorated by nature" because he gets inspired by nature to create artifacts which are therefore unrepeatable. He creates unique forms in ceramic and designs bespoke collections for exclusive pubs, hotels, restaurants and private collections.
