About the Product:
Cactus is a ceramic dinner plate hand-made by the artisans of Fasano Ceramiche in their workshop in Grottaglie, a small town in Apulia famous for the production of pottery and ceramics.
Cactus is masterfully hand-painted with an emerald and red decor depicting this typical Mediterranean plant. Its rustic and fun style is perfect for an Italian-style gathering with friends, especially during the cold seasons.
To set the scene, this is what you need: some chestnut branches and leaves for decoration, jute placemats, a red bottle of Chianti to warm up the night, scented candles, and a bean soup served in a handmade cozy "pan-shape" bowl. The contrast of the autumn atmosphere and the bold cactus décor will add glam to your evening by the fire. That is our lifestyle.
The Cactus hand-painted dinner plate is part of a dinner set which includes a soup & pasta bowl and a side plate decorated using the same original motif; complete the Cactus look with matching side plates and soup & pasta bowls.
NOTE: Possible imperfections are due to the handmade nature of each item.
About the Collection:
Grottaglie, in Apulia (Italy) is a renowned centre for the production of ceramics and pottery. Founded by the Greeks in the 2nd century B.C, “Kruptaie” is surrounded by rich clay deposits, huge caves, and niches dug into the tufa, which are the perfect hiding spots for large wooden ovens required for firing crockery.
In this setting, Fasano throwers, decorators, and kilnmen have been working for 18 generations to become market leaders in the manufacturing of traditional earthenware. Despite competition from industrial producers, Fasano Ceramiche still decorates each dish by hand and creates unique collections with limited editions like this one made just for dishesonly.
